Oh how I wish these had been invented when I was little. The Thomas and Friends Follow Me Thomas is a miracle of modern innovation, well if your 4 or under, it certainly is.
Basically, you carry a lantern that shines a light onto the floor and wherever the light goes a preschool sized Thomas follows, making sound effects and saying interactive phrases.
The lantern also houses buttons which tell Thomas to move in three preprogrammed patterns: a figure of 8, a circle and zig zag.

A TV game here with a major advantage, it's much cheaper than some of its rivals.
Why? Well for a start there's no console or bike to buy. You just plug it into your TV and you're away.
On the minus side of things the graphics are a bit primitive and you'll need a ready supply of batteries. But if your child is heavily into Thomas they'll enjoy delivering freight cars from station to station and helping to uncover railway tracks etc. In short it's well worth considering
And that's my Top Ten list of Thomas the Tank Engine Games that are slightly different. Although I have to admit they aren't featured in any particular order, which I suppose might defeat the point of a Top Ten List.
So when push to comes to shove this is the order I'd personally place them in:
10In at Number ten, it's the Thomas and Friends Domino Game. Match an engine with Thomas and the gang.
9Calling All Engines for the Leapster console system. Educational and fun but you also have to buy the console as well as the cartridge.
8The Great Discovery Card Game. 3 games in one. Great when you've only got a short time to play. .
7The Thomas and Friends 24 Piece Shaped Floor Puzzle. Lovely quality puzzle that will keep any younger Thomas fan happy for days.
6Thomas and Friends Special Deelivery, marvellous for playing on the PC (Windows XP and Vista). A good introduction to the computer.
5Make-A-Match is deceptively simple but really concentrates those memory brain cells.
4Thomas TV game . Cheap and Cheeful but loads of fun. Although steering can be a bit awkward.
3Thomas Play Vehicle. You and I would probably call this a tent. But your child will know better.
2Fisher Price Smart Cycle. Quite simply why don't they make these in an adult size?.
